to help ring in the new year, i created this photo booth to capture a few of those special moments.

 

thanksgiving 2013 - table decor

being home for the holidays is always a great opportunity to pull out my mom's collection of antiques. here i used old barn wood and vintage feed sacks as a table runner. i used pomegranates and artichokes to give a unique touch of color and texture, then finished it off with soft green and white floral arrangements.

for laura's surprise engagement party, i handmade paper flowers which i attached to a canopy of lights, offering a colorful and vibrant glow over the patio

thanksgiving 2012 - table decor

trees inspired me for this setting - i used a big slab of tree trunk i found in the orchard for the centerpiece. i tied the natural "wood" elements into the name tags which are cookies that look like tree rings. using canvas material for a table cloth, i drew roots from the center connecting each place setting together, encouraging family and friends to draw or write what they were thankful for.  

for this 50th wedding anniversary, i created centerpieces that were inspired by the couple's love for the ocean.

inspired by the surroundings of camp unistar in cass lake, minnesota, branches were collected and framed together with twine, then wrapped with colorful paper drawn by fellow camp goers to create these wilderness lanterns

the bride was inspired by the confetti system for her wedding decor. here i handmade paper and milar poms that were delicately hung from the ceiling creating an elegant yet electric atmosphere.
